Policy Focus

Each of our more than 150 members is committed to achieving inclusive growth for everyone in the Dallas community. Dallas Citizens Council aims to foster an environment where economic growth and prosperity extend to all residents of the Dallas area. To achieve this future, we are focused on four primary public policy areas:

Dallas Citizens Council is committed to ensuring every student in Dallas has access to a quality education. We understand the challenges facing our education leaders, our students, and the many families in our community, and we seek to lend assistance and resources where we can have the most impact. DCC supports public education initiatives that improve educational opportunities and student outcomes, as well as policies that promote the long-term success of Dallas ISD.

Dallas Citizens Council believes it is essential to invest in mobility so that our growing community can remain connected and accessible for all. We partner with entities throughout the region, state and nation to support responsible, sustainable funding for transportation infrastructure. Transportation policy priorities for us include the development of Trinity Parkway as part of the Trinity River Corridor Project, in addition to supporting other viable opportunities that increase funding for regional transportation.

As our city continues to grow, it is imperative our citizens have affordable housing options. Dallas Citizens Council assists in the development, promotion and revitalization of programs and services that create more sustainable housing.

Quality of Life

Dallas Citizens Council promotes policies that spur the vital progress of our city and that provide quality of life opportunities for our citizens. From providing quality healthcare to developing a skilled workforce, DCC supports improvements that will serve and attract businesses and talent to our region. We continue to work with Dallas Medical Resource, supporting improvements in the public healthcare system, as well as Dallas Works, a major initiative in our city that seeks to connect students to summer jobs by encouraging local companies to employ our youth.
